Our VisionWe envision the day when all citizens, their property and their neighborhoods will be safe from the dangers and nuisances of irresponsible pet ownership. We envision the day when animals will not suffer because of human abuse, neglect or ignorance; and that every pet born will be assured of a good home and care all of it's natural life. Our Mission In keeping with our vision, our mission is to balance the health, safety and welfare needs of people and animals in St. Tammany Parish by:
W hat We Do
ENCOURAGE SPAY/NEUTER The president of our organization has coordinated a low income spay/neuter intervention program in east St. Tammany for the past 10 years.
We are currently overseeing a spay/neuter program which is available for the pets of all low income residents of St. Tammany Parish
We have successfully worked with St. Tammany Parish Dept. of Animal Services to insure that all adopted animals are spayed or neutered before leaving our shelter
EDUCATE We “spread the word” on the benefits of spay/neuter through talks to groups and individuals.
ADOPTION We help with adoptions by direct contact with potential adopters, doing home checks and arranging transport for animals that are adopted out of the area
DIRECT HELP FOR THE SHELTER ANIMALS Medical treatment Obedience training
COMMUNITY OUTREACH Visiting pets program P articipation in the program that pairs shelter puppies with caregivers in Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center for fostering, socialization and training
